He offers much to reflect upon regarding history, religion, philosophy, spirituality, and the sheer, gritty determination to achieve your goals, despite all the odds which might be stacked against you.

Please note that we are selling this initial 300 book print run at pretty much cost price. Any residual money from these sales will be shared between MND Scotland and l'Institut du Cerveau.

Since December 2024 we have established a new part of our business, called Olaf McTarn Publishing. We are thrilled to be publishing our great friend Michael Gradwell’s Danube Diaries, a project we have been working on with him since June 2023. 

We will also be publishing, as of 2025, novels and essays written by Jamie. He has caught the writing bug! Diane is hoping he might talk less and write more….

We've been in textiles for four decades, advising and designing fabrics for some of the leading menswear and womenswear brands in the world. 

The Olaf Original Kilt Blanket is the result of our conscious effort to put all our accumulated textile expertise into one beautifully crafted piece.

We've developed a unique fabric specially woven for us in Italy, using 100% Virgin Wool which has been boiled in the finishing process for a rugged timeless feel. It is a chunky 550 grams per square metre, designed to keep you super warm and to stay perfectly in shape.

Like a kilt, the Olaf wraps around the waist one and a half times, and is held in place by conveniently placed Velcro strips, allowing for maximum sizing comfort.
